Off-Center Aventurine Watch

When designing this model, our objective was to rethink traditional centered time-telling by creating a clear vertical balance between natural materials and exposed movement mechanics.

The dial architecture is built around an off-center layout set against a full plate of deep blue aventurine glass. The aventurine base features natural metallic inclusions that subtly catch light without overpowering the primary displays. At 12 o’clock, time is read via an off-center subdial hand-cut from natural white mother-of-pearl. Its organic iridescence provides a sharp contrast against the dark background, while classical Breguet-style hands offer effortless legibility.

Positioned directly opposite at 6 o’clock is a circular open-heart aperture housing the regulating organ. Drawing structural inspiration from classic Breguet tourbillon cage designs, the open balance wheel framework exposes the golden balance wheel, jeweled pivot, and interlocking train gears beneath. This upper-and-lower split layout separates the quiet surface of time-reading from the active kinetic motion of the movement.

Powering this configuration is a high-beat automatic movement engineered for both reliable performance and a slim wrist profile. The calibre measures just 5.4 mm in total thickness, operating at a high frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) with 21 synthetic ruby jewels. This high-beat rate ensures a smooth motion for the balance wheel while delivering a dependable 45-hour power reserve.

The sapphire display back reveals the refined movement decoration. The custom skeletonized oscillating weight features a fine sandblasted base with a raised YOYG relief logo, complemented by linear brushing across the upper surfaces and circular graining along the outer perimeter.
